A

Aging Crisis

This was a moment in time when traditional societies, slow to address their aging populations, were confronted with loss of competitiveness, labor shortages, and strained resources. Severe immigration restrictions led to this moment, while the megaregions, other societies, and regions became more attractive and efficient.

This crisis reshaped the world’s geopolitical power balance and led to the megaregions' independent status after much internal conflict.

B

Basic World

The world where people reside physically (real, as basic needs like food, shelter and clothing)

C

Compensation for Work

Compensation is always reimbursed after 224 Time Units and based on a 13/56 Time Share.

Cooperative Megaregion Framework (CMF)

Organisation that implemented the Organized Displacement Act in the name of the participating Megaregions.

Corridor

The place, the alley, between the Basic and Side world, where the connections are frayed and always under construction. People slid into the Corridor by accident; now it became a place to reside with its own laws of physics and code.

E

Enclaves

When the number of displaced people grew, these areas became fully functioning cities and territories. People started to refer to them as enclaves, territories that often lacked legal recognition, official structure, or rule of law.

This is the most common form of Enclave. There are also enclaves where people converged out of their own free will to be among like-minded persons. Often, the societies where these enclaves resided didn’t give them official recognition.

M

Megaregions

Metropolis grew into Megacity, grew into Megalopolis, and now Megaregions, which usually harbor multiple Megalopolis.

The Megaregions' governing organizational structure is balanced between the Democratic Councils with the Chambers of Representatives, the Tribes, and the Corporations.

Megaregions are the most efficient, culturally dynamic, competitive, and innovative territories on the planet.

O

Organized Displacement Act

The agreement lends a legal status to the (often displaced) inhabitants of the various participating Enclaves.

S

Side World

The world where people often reside mentally and have some manifestation that represents them there. (virtual, digital, internet, augmented)

Standard Work Time Share (SWTS)

The SWTS is fixed on a 13/56 Time Share, Subscription, and Tipping Fees that you usually see advertised for jobs are based on this unless mentioned otherwise.

T

Time Share

Time Share is the amount of Time Units you allocate to something, e.g. holiday, job, dinner, cleaning, etc.

Time Unit

Time Unit is created to comprehend time as a mindful unit. When you calculate a minimum of 3 hours for any task, you will have the actual time to focus and be aware of that task. Therefore a week is divided in 56 time units.

Tribes

A social and cultural organization that replaced the old political parties and unions. The technology that combined the Basic and Side worlds was used to build Tribe affiliations, mainly through the Corridor.

Through your subscriptions to different Tribes, you fight for your beliefs and rights and support others who need help.

Third (3rd) Places

Corporate or privately owned spaces where people gather to purchase a commodity or service usually also include the use of the space where this commodity or service can be found; therefore, it also offers a connection with other purveyors of the same commodity or service. They have become known as the third place you reside after your home and work.
